Has anybody used any of the TRakke Packs? Are they really durable? I mean, I saw a blog review about the Assynt that got punctured a hole while using it daily ( I don't know what he did with it). Just looking for some reference.
+Chase Reeves That sounds awesome ! I'm looking to get the assynt 17 and I really like the aesthetics. I'm kinda like a heritage backpack nut so this fits into what I want. For me it's a very expensive pack so I just want other people's opinion about it. Coming from you really gives me assurance. Thanks Chase and more power to your channel.
Have you checked out the Nobull Waxed Canvas Backpack or the Defy Bucktown Backpack? Hard to find a waxed canvas backpack with the right look and functionality (not too hipstery but not too Boomery, with well thought-out storage and design).
These are good waxed canvas bags from London! Also, love your videos! SO helpful
Hi, I am a problem that only you can help me.
Or need a backpack where I put pants, sweater shirts, two binders, notebooks, cases, headphones, charging cables, and an MEC.
Which backpack do you recommend?
I ask you why I think you are the greatest expert in backpack
so many bags to put my business papers in! wish you would've been able to get a hold of one of the Langly alpha bags for this video. been contemplating between that and the Wandrd perverky 21 for camera stuff. thanks for the reviews
Topo Mountain Briefcase?
Why are they naming a MESSENGER BAG "Briefcase"? If it had a FULL zipper, so you can open it up and flip up the laptop without taking it OUT of the bag, THEN it would be a briefcase. Cool bag, but not a briefcase at all.
Chase I have a few questions for you and please answer honestly. All the bags you show here all look like they just got pulled out from their original packages, so have you actually used them? If yes, how long? If not, how do you justify the opinions?
Not sure why you think they look pulled out of packaging. Maybe cuz they were stacked on the floor when I was switching between what I was using. Yea, used them all! (Btw, switching between bags often is one of the best ways to learn what you really want in a daily carry). Also, I use 10-20 different bags a month for testing purposes... there’s exceptions to this, but when I get a bag now I have maybe more experience than anyone at this point at predicting what it’s going to be like to use before i even strap it on. Materials, stitching and zips are all immediate to investigate. And then it’s organization. And then it’s pack it up and carry it around for a day or two to the office (coffee shops) with long walks.
A feature that might be good to include is whether these bags stand up by themselves or flop over. Sometimes it is obvious, other times you are holding the bags up with one hand or the other and I'm not so sure. I may carry a bunch of things with me, and set my bag down first, will the bag stand there while unload everything else, or do I have to bend all the way over to pick it up laying flat on the floor?
Loving the reviews (and the bags). A shameless plug for my country of original but I feel these guys deserve more praise for their 'honest' bags...

Last question I’m considering to buy the Topo Design mountain briefcase but I think you right about the luck of some
Organization. Are you still recommending on Topo or there are better options?
P.s I love your channel!
@Chase, thanks for your video. Can you please make a full review of the Waterfield Bolt Backpack? I am really keen on it and thinking to get one, would appreciate if you find the time to do this. Thanks and happy holidays!
Chase, as usual awesome review! Really expected to see the Staad by Waterfield designs (especially because that review brought me to subscribe to your channel and really showed your cool personality), but nevertheless had tons of fun watching this review. Thank you again.
I️ picked up the filson briefcase because of Chase’s original review. ZERO regrets. Looks great with business attire or casually. And is the most functional briefcase I️’ve ever owned. Previously I️ owned a couple saddlebacks... but the filson is far superior
Hey Chase! I'm one of the Co-Founders of Astray Goods Co. Thank you so much for featuring our bag! You know what!? Your comment and feedback about not being able to access the laptop from the quick access is definitely valid! Again it's a "Man! Why didn't we think of that" moment. But the good news is, our Kickstarter campaign is still runnning and we can still make amendments, and that's exactly what we are going to do! So there you go! Access the main compartment and the laptop from the hidden quick access! A feature suggested by none other than Mr. Chase Reeves! And as we speak, we will be making an update on our Kickstarter to bring up this new point. Thank you again!
That’s pretty cool. Have you seen their new line of waxed canvas bags? I’ve always wanted one of their leather bags and backpacks but where I live in Mexico it is way too hot and humid here for those imho. Thanks for your videos man. They have helped in my bag wanting journey. Just purchased a Goruck GR2 in 34L for my travels. Loved that review.
Hey Chase, do you have an affiliate link for that little Tom Bihn accessory zipper bag you keep your stuff you never want to see in? I'm using a shitty little no-name zipper bag for that stuff now and want to upgrade. That one looks pretty perfect. Would love for my purchase to kick you back some change if possible!
I have a Waterfield Bolt Briefcase and I adore it. It's very similar to the backpack, but (yay!) no velcro and (IMO, yay!) not a backpack.
But something worth mentioning is that the bag is HEAVY. That lovely full-grain leather, heavy waxed canvas, gold lining -- it adds up. It's by far the heaviest computer bag I've owned, and sometimes, that's kind of a bummer.
I don't know what's happening with Rickshaw Bags. They closed their retail store in San Francisco for remodeling but it's been forever with no updates. They also haven't done anything on their Twitter account in over a year. I hope they are ok.
Mr. Reeves - I have a GR1 I used once and found the fabulousness of it a bit too heavy for my EDC, which is why I replaced it - are you interested in it? if so, shoot me a message at [email protected] It won't hurt my feelings if you're not :) this is a little weird.
I discovered your reviews while researching the Topo Mountain Brief. Almost two years later, I love the reviews and I might love the bag even more (sorry, but the bag and I have bonded). As you said, "it's the perfect size bag...yeah!" It could use another pocket or two, but it does give me an excuse to buy a bunch of cool dopp kit bags to fill it with.
Jack Franks not really, I have a pretty expensive laptop but a good priced bag...it really just depends what company u buy the bag from, Like obviously don’t go on amazon and buy a random 50 dollar bag lmao..but there are some pretty solid bags for 50-100 if you actually do research
Whoa, just checked them out and saw their new camera bag "The Integer". Aside from an awesome name, I am both excited I found out about it, and kinda mad because I will likely kick myself for spending $500 on a bag... Thanks....I think :-)
Picked up the Qwistion Simple Office messenger from your big qwistion review. I LOVE the thing it’s the perfect size. I can’t overpack it so it can’t get too heavy but I can fit everything I need! Business papers in the laptop compartment. Then a 10.5in iPad Pro and notebook back to back with my Olympus camera and an extra lens on the other side. The big outer pouches are used for my “need em but don’t wanna see em” stuff in one and a camera strap and chargers in the other.
It’s already wearing in beautifully. Thinking of waxing it as well but not sure how that’ll go.
Keep up the work chase. The channel is so enjoyable to watch!
I know it’s kinda a no-go and hipstered to death, but I kinda like my fjallraven Greenland 15l. Got it for 50$ and waxed the hell out of it. I usually carry an iPad, some mushroom coffee and actual paper in there (for times when I don’t have to go to the office and rather get some study time in)
