Really confused by the 6 month old comments on a video published today... Did I stumble through a wormhole? I really hope that box has a place for business papers, man. Really enjoy your videos, your honesty, enthusiasm and insights. 🤙
Chase Reeves (8 months ago)
This is actually a video i've had up at chasereeves.net for a long time, and I just last night realized it was "unlisted", so i made it public... and now this morning I wake up to the surprise that it must have sent it out to subscribers in some way :| doh! But i'm super enthused by all the amazing sentiments in the comments :)
TCX Choi (8 months ago)
I suspect since he's travelling he's scheduled some videos he's taken private some time ago to become public again and they're showing up as new uploads.
Baby Pootsie (8 months ago)
I was thinking when the video started "Noooo, Chase got a haircut"...
dfau1t (5 months ago)
Apparently, Chase was really into boxes before he discovered bags. lol
crcaccounts (7 months ago)
I'm not especially interested in bags, but I subscribed months back because I like your style and find your review entertaining, and its clear that behind the superficiality of bags there is a person who thinks and feels deeply, which is a different level than your typical youtube unboxing video. Don't see how you are 190lbs though. Look 160 - 170.
Chase Reeves (6 months ago)
Got that thick trunk, dawg. Thanks!
Tony Perez-Carpenter (7 months ago)
My daughter is almost one as well! I am looking for a bag that I can carry all my stuff (sups minimal) and her stuff (way more than a person a foot tall should ever have to bring on vacation). But I am so glad I watched this video. Right now Im not climbing any mountain but the family one, but hope to get back into the self work again soon. Thanks again for the thoughts, cheers! -Tony in California

Chase, I love the video. I've watched almost every video you've put out and it has been an inspiration to me as I'm trekking through this new minimalistic and adventure-drove lifestyle right now. You have a great sense of humor, charisma, and passion that really shines through your work. I admire you're creativity and work ethic and I'm excited for what's new to come! Great stuff!

Thanks Chase. Thanks for explaining the serendipitous way this video came to be whilst doing your Waterfield executive Pro Backpack review. I circled back to check it out and glad that I did. Those Freudian slips are unsettling are they not. x

Love your brain and your thoughts on life. You keep posting, I'll happily keep watching. Best to you my man. Now I have to get back to my business papers. :-D

I don't have the words. This hit me hard, on a tough day, and I'm right there with you on finding a vocation that is truly yours, fulfilling, and hopefully pays the bills. Doing your best work. For me, I am 100% aware my teaching career is not that vocation. I'm doing good work, but not my best, because it's not my thing. I know it's not my thing. I don't know what my thing is. I want to be happy, fucking happy with wherever we are in life, and I'm not yet. Today I'm terrified for my daughter's future and pissed the fuck off at our "leaders," with a tiny voice in the back of my head telling me to run for office because someone has to. My head may be screwed on tighter than other someones, and my moral compass may be less confused, and I'm passionate about righting wrongs for those who haven't a voice in the fight, but... is that my thing? Eh. I'm just not there yet. Gotta pay the bills, don't live in an area with a lot of other opportunity and too damn busy to search right now. I hate the excuses, but they're there. Thank you for the video. Came for the bags, stayed for the words. And jokes. The jokes are pretty good, too 😉 Keep it coming!
Chase Reeves (8 months ago)
Word, thanks Nikki. Just made an instagram live vid you may like if you catch it in time.

You help people to reflect and you're sincere about it. You would make a great friend to anyone. Nice to "meet" you through this medium. Thank you for sharing this video. Keep on living and loving brother!
Thanks for the words Chase. Glad to know we are not alone in this path.

I remember seeing this months ago and am so happy to see it re-posted. I think you really capture what many people feel and have such a wonderful ability to enunciate it and bring it to the surface verbally. It's apparent that what you say is in itself, "inspired work". And while it's easy to be brutally hard on ourselves and sometimes wallow in darkness... I hope you realize that (as of today) the 37 THOUSAND people who subscribe to you (geezus that's a lot of people right?) do so because they think highly of you, like your individuality and style, your presentation, and common obsessions (bags.... man.)
Brandon Waiss (8 months ago)
I sincerely mean it. Hey, miss Portland yet? We went to Foga de Chao night before last downtown... yum.

A friend recently turned me on to your channel and I love your reviews. Thank you for sharing from such a personal place. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 You've inspired me to get back to working on my box which I've shoved to the back burner for a while now.

Chase! I stumbled on you due to a bag review. Loved your presentation style and direction and stuck around. I'm so glad I did! I feel that I hit that sub button just for this moment! Thanks for what you do and HOW you do it! Looking forward to the .net and all it will bring.

To quote my favorite bag review (Aer flight pack 2) "I like the way you roll mother fucker". Keep doin what you're doing Chase.
Marilyn Teoh (8 months ago)
Stumbled upon your totey-tote bag video a couple of months back. I have never subscribed to a review channel FOR the reviewer. Great stuff. Someone else here commented, "came for the bag, stayed for the man". That's exactly what I did. Love your humour, glad you're real. God bless you. Also, magnets? How. Do. They. Work. :)
Jay 'Ontario (8 months ago)
Love your bag videos, however this is by far your Greatest video......I'm with you brother.......you're not alone..........
Hazem El Seddiq (8 months ago)
I've been watching your "stuff" for a while now and I really like your style. I love the fact that you're straight-up with yourself, in the sense that "this is unpopular and not clickbaitey." I'm a filmmaker and vlogger based in Egypt, and my "thing" is to create content that spreads awareness through showing people my journey. My content is also unclickbaitey and real. You might even say unpopular. My question to you is, how does one come to peace with that fact? The fact that making viral videos and living for the grind of creating popular content isn't my thing? I mean, anyone can assume that "my videos aren't popular because viral crap doesn't fulfill me." How do you become sure that you're not doing it because you can't... You just don't want to?

Keep rocking, man. I'm glad to be following you on the journey for your wooden box. Watching your videos sometimes feels like pulling your off the hole on the ground and taking a peek outside. "Oh, so we're all fighting our battles and daily struggles, good to know it ain't just me".
Joel Tetzner (8 months ago)
This is your “Mr Holland’s Opus” moment...having a dream, no clear path, but the journey unfolds to a spectacular work that affects thousands. I hope you see the lives you have already inspired through Fizzle, your speaking gigs, the bag reviews, you’re passion for family. If all the people you have affected were in one room right now, it would be Madison Square Garden. Know that every action you are already doing is like manna for a ton of us out here.
Andrea Orlandi (8 months ago)
I don't need a new bag, i buy one from one of yours video, but i really like your channel, the passion you put into your videos, so i always check your channel for new stuff. Really appreciate your work here.
Nuno Moço (8 months ago)
You deserve so much more subscribers, is all I have to say. You're great, you're content is great, even if you don't like bags or daily carry stuff. Some things you just watch because of the host, your channel is of that kind, the content is great but you return not because you need more bags, but because you want to be entertained by you. Thanks for sharing.
Ritch Flynn (8 months ago)
Chase Reeves is about bags. And boxes. Both. Sometimes at the same time… haha, love ya man, your meaning & “climbing the mountain” journey truly connect!

Your videos and vibes are my favorite thing on the “web.” I have never felt so connected to my backpack and you referenced Patton Oswald... so, keep up the awesome. Off to make some boxes.

Those lamps are making the video worse. You had a perfect frame earlier with the main focus on you. Now it's lamps and Chase.

I forgot to add the obvious - love your videos. I would definitely go on an adventure with you and I don't even like going on adventures with other people all that much.

Chase, really, you are the truest person I have ever seen on YouTube. And I've never seen so many reviews of backpacks laughing so much. Thank you for making me laugh, for letting me know so many brands and, above all, to be as you are. So keep it up. I wish you all the good and the luck of the world. 😉

Nutteri (8 months ago)
What an ”insight people” type of inspiration boost this was, thanks Chase!
Nutteri (8 months ago)
I mean the influence the "insight people" have on you kinda show in your videos! Your videos are very high quality (haven't gotten to the blog or podcast yet, just found out about them actually!), you provide valuable information and make it entertaining. It's easy to see how you hold yourself to a higher standard, you probably share many values with the other "insight people"! Also, I always enjoy seeing people being honest, and hearing their stories can truly help others get inspired. That's what I think. Gotta go build my box!
Chase Reeves (8 months ago)
I’m curious about how you mean... say more?
Ju-Lynda V (8 months ago)
just what I needed to hear, plus the Chase Reeves humorous voices. Top shelf stuff.

Dang, here I was clicking into this thinking I'm going to get a thoroughly enjoyable and insightful commentary on the next fancy bag to contain my business papers and BOOM, Mr Reeves dropping them jewels. Thanks for the Real Talk, this was inspiring.

Came for bag reviews and stayed for the inspiration, your character and charm. (And maybe bag reviews, too) Honestly, I am so glad to have stumbled over your channel. It's a huge joy to watch every single video you put out. Keep it up man and be true to yourself. You're an inspiration really.

2:54 made my day lol
Atessa Farzami (8 months ago)
A normal person would ask why a man who makes videos about backpacks is getting on a righteous soapbox. A normal person doesn’t seek inspiration from watching that man review backpacks for three years and nod along when the man compares himself to Jiro Ono. It’s been awesome to see your channel grow, you deserve it.
Jon Barnes (8 months ago)
Bro I look forward to your videos! Your the reason I picked up a Errant pack man. Keep it up.

Benjamin Cressy (8 months ago)
Dude- you’re the man! I’m sold.. I have been stationed all over the world and have had to interact with many types of people. It’s refreshing to see videos that are cool and finding GOOD gear that I might want for traveling and improving day to day functions from someone that I can respect. Thanks bro for keeping it real!
Katy Leep (8 months ago)
This is such a great message. I could see where a lot of dad's could look to you for advice at how to be a dad AND climb their own mountain. How to balance that, how to better yourself which in turn betters your family. Women have some support in this because we talk about these things more. Men on the other hand usually aren't going out for coffee to talk about their feelings, needs, desires, fears. This is great man! Keep it up, keep on climbing!

Thank you for your honesty. I geek out on authentic people who are just honest with their struggles. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your son and I’m glad you found a way through that valley. I get everything you’re saying as I try to figure out my own business idea and support my family at the same time. It’s TOUGH. Im going to hit you up on the .net. Praying for you and your family.
