Those magnetic collar stays are a waste of money. They fall off and the brand names are a rip off. That plastic insert will warp overtime for sure...
Dan M (3 months ago)
This ruined my shirts after the dryer. The Slick Collar insert is way better
Boyd Reece (3 months ago)
what if your shirt doesn't have a slot for collar stay?
Julius Songling (3 months ago)
This right here is annoying. Yes, I agree.
Axel Walter (4 months ago)
Still: the removable collar stay is technically the wrong solution, unless you have a 1mm topstitch on your collar: the removable stay ends at the topstitch. The collar point AFTER the topstitch is without support. So after wash, the point can easily bend and look shabby. Therefore incorporated collar stays are better though they don't always give the same support as the removable ones. At least you collar point is sharp...

So will a lot of starch

Sikander Badshah (7 months ago)
Where could i buy that shirt from
Barry McAlister (7 months ago)
Or just buy a button down collar . Never use metal collar stays, the edges will wear your collars out. Been there, done that. Get mother of pearl stays.
Deepu N (7 months ago)
Thanks! Does it matter what size the magnets are?

So, what is the difference from shirts that have the pocket to insert the collar stays, the ones that have it by it is "sealed" were nothing can be done and the ones that don't have it at all, not even a pocket to insert metal collar stays...what's the difference?
Tyler S (1 year ago)

I tried double adhesive tape (2-3 mm). It worked well (with non-magnetic collar stays). Sticking is very good.
Akeem Soolayman (1 year ago)
As study as the metal collar stays are; won't the fact that the top of your collar is more weighted just add to the rest of your shirt flopping down on you? (Not a critique of its use. Only wondering.)
Big Balla (1 year ago)
Thankssssss for the video!!!!!!! 👍
Louk Bots (1 year ago)
A soft placket is a sign of a high quality fabric, it's a sign of softness

Is 94$ shirt expensive or too cheap?
RealityHurts923 (1 year ago)
But can you see that white strip under white or light colored shirts like a white v neck t?
otimus prime (1 year ago)
Just Use White/Clear Zip ties. Cut the lock piece out, cut to size, sew in. For fraction of the price Zip ties can stand a beating.
RealityHurts923 (1 year ago)
otimus prime time zip ties have sharp corners when you cut them. Might cut the shirt or melt in dryer (although I hang dry all my shirts).
Andrei Indru (1 year ago)
Some of the shirts come with buttons attach on the collar, so you don't need this process anymore.
Klint Kolach (1 year ago)
Dude! This video is awesome. Never heard of those placket inserts before. Now I know haha

wow! i initially watched this video for the MillionDollarCollar and ended up killing two birds with one stone. I'm just so mind blown by the combination of the metal collar stays with the little magnets to prevent the collar from flaring out (so many of my shirts have that problem!)!. So simple yet so ingeniously effective! ha ha huge thanks man!
Eric Weinberg (1 year ago)

Jose, talk to me about the suit you're wearing. I like the lapels and the cut. Would this suit work in a mohair blend (adding a bit of shine) or all wool best?

Mortal MC (2 years ago)
I think using plastic collar stays and paperclips are a cheap alternative to having magnetic collar stays. I think it's a great idea and I've tried it. It works!
Arturo Albino (2 years ago)
why didnt you show how to put the plaketts on?
Mike Miller (2 years ago)
Where do you get the little round magnets that you use with the metal collar stays? Obviously, a small, pleasant looking magnet is desired.

Hayfire2 Joe (2 years ago)
"If your shirt area is week which can be from cheap materials" Excuse me, but what are you talking about? All shirts are made with too weak plackets due to the fact that a shirt - from the onset on - is to be worn with a tie. Thats why. I could by a $600 shirt and the placket would still be too limb, sloppy, floppy whatever. So you are wrong. You should read some more.

Tom ford dress shirts have strong plackets

Hey man, I'm new to the business professional look. Now that my job requires me to look sharp all the time, I need recommendations on places where you can find quality suits, shirts for a relatively cheaper price. Any brand name you share?
AmyX (2 years ago)
Women's shirts don't have collar stay pockets :(. I once cut open a collar to sew in stays... Worked great but washing really beat it up.
psychomaiko (2 years ago)
Can you do a video on how to get the perfect polo collar? I sometimes opt a polo over a button up due to its casual nature but I can never get the collar to look good after the first wear. Thanks
Andy P (2 years ago)
That's really cool. I've not seen either the magnet thing before nor the placket strip. What happens to the placket strip when you wash the shirt? Does it bend or break? How long do they last before you have to have to insert one all over again?
Million Dollar Collar (2 years ago)
Hi Andy, Million Dollar Collar will last for the life of the shirt. That is the main engineering behind the product. Took us 2 years to develop the material. I have shirts with 100 washes and dry cleans on them and it still works perfect. -Rob
Jose Echevarria (2 years ago)
