thank you for the interpretation, this help me as beginner. but i think i have single correction for your better visualization. when you visualize left join, i think it would visualize trimmed area. in other word it cover the left area and inner join area. but after all your visualization idea is absolutely amazing.

Like other pointed out, the venn diagram for the LEFT JOIN and RIGHT JOIN are wrong. The intersection portion should be shaded in both. Besides that, amazing video.

This is a good tutorial but I have a two tables... one is a general information table showing which users are premium or not and the other table is the premium table but I don't have any matching columns in both tables... I like to do a query something like this... select * from users where premium = 1 and select * from memberships where subscriptionplan = level 1.... The user must be a premium and level 1 user... should I use left join?

Edgar Sanchez (8 months ago)
Wow, I was really struggling to understand how or where LEFT, RIGHT, OUTER came from. You cleared up so many questions I had in this one video. Thanks a lot!! And forget everyone who says your diagram is wrong, everyone who codes knows that coding develops and teaches you how to think. They should be smart enough to rethink the way they see the diagram
