JKYog presents a highly inspirational lecture where Swami Mukundananda motivates spiritual seekers for daily spiritual practice. Swami ji says that if you wish to develop the kind of focus that the great Saints in history had then you must be willing to do your sadhana or spiritual practice daily.
While performing our daily duties, because we are not yet accomplished karma yogis, the world pulls our mind. Even though we may have the noblest intention but when the tension builds up in work environment, then God is forgotten. That is natural because the mind is 'worldly', and it is not able to retain divine focus. So, we need to just block out the world for some time during the day and in that time have just one objective: to elevate your mind to develop a deep longing for God and to yearn for Him with all your heart. This should be the personal sadhana. This personal sadhana does a world of good. Somebody, who's intelligent, realizes that if I wish to remain healthy, I must take out time every day to take care of the body and then that helps all day long. If we neglect that then slowly the health will go down. The same applies to the mental health. You want to make your mind attached to God. So, for some time you block out all worldly distractions and try and attach your mind to God. This will then help you all day long - you will find that your mind is sticking to God and you are retaining that divine consciousness. Why? because of the spiritual strength you gathered in your sadhana.
Some people say I don't have time. That's an excuse. Those who say they don't have time for sadhana they are cheating themselves. The point is that they have not given it a priority.
