How New York Got Its Skyline

04:22
Why do so many of New York's older skyscrapers have a similar design? The answer can be traced back to a monumental 1916 zoning law, which established “setback” requirements for buildings above a certain height. In the heart of the Financial District, the Equitable Building, a historic skyscraper that predates the law, remains a symbol of the excesses of the pre-zoning era. THE SPICIEST RAMEN in Tokyo at Karashibi Kikanbo - DEVIL LEVEL Japanese Food!

10:42
Subscribe for more videos► http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe T-shirts for sale here► https://migrationology.com/store/ Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is known for serving the spiciest bowl of ramen you can eat in Tokyo, Japan, and not only is it insanely spicy, you’ll also find that it’s one of the most flavorful bowls of ramen you’ll ever eat as well. They have two shops, the one of the corner serves only Tsukemen, a style of Japanese ramen where the noodles are dry and you dip them in the sauce. For the traditional bowl of ramen, you walk around the corner to the side and that’s the shop you’re looking for. Like most ramen restaurants in Tokyo, you enter to a vending machine and choose your bowl of ramen, pay and get a ticket. There are two different spice levels to choose from, chili 1-5 and Sichuan pepper 1-5, 5 being the strongest which is called Devil Level! I decided to go Devil Level all the way, both chili and Sichuan pepper. Price - 1500 JPY ($13.60) for my bowl. From the top bowl, you pay an extra 200 Yen due to adding so much more spices. First of all, the Japanese food miso ramen was outstanding, the flavor of the broth was incredibly delicious. On my first bite, what hit me hard was the Sichuan pepper, that made my mouth start tingling and made it hard for me to control my mouth or even talk! The Devil Level chili was not too bad for me, but it was the huge amount of Sichuan chili that almost did me in. You don’t have to order Devil Level, you can order whatever level you like, but the ramen at Tokyo’s Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is sure to blow you away with insane flavor! LONG LIFE FOOD in Hunza Valley - HEAVEN ON EARTH, Pakistan | Pakistani Food Tour!

31:58
SUBSCRIBE http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe for 2 new videos every week T-shirts and caps: https://goo.gl/6WdK1l Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market): https://goo.gl/VY6NjH I want to say a massive thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market): https://goo.gl/VY6NjH Without him, this entire trip wouldn’t have been possible. Also, thank you to Hunza Serena Inn (https://www.serenahotels.com/serenahunza/en/default.html) for sponsoring our stay in Hunza Valley. The goal of today’s food tour was to uncover some of the secrets of the long life food of Hunza Valley. Especially traditionally, people were known to live very long and healthy lives - a combination of eating seasonally, lots of nuts, and apricots, and fresh mountain air - we also discovered a few dishes that must have led to long life. But we began our day in Gilgit, and first thing at daybreak, we drove about 20 minutes outside of Gilgit to start our morning from a strategic viewpoint. There’s a confluence where three of the highest mountain ranges in the world - Himalayas (Mount Everest), Karakorams (K2), and Hindu Kush, mountains come together. It’s a magical place, and we were literally the only people there. We then headed back to Serena Gilgit Hotel for breakfast before starting our day to Hunza Valley. The drive was spectacular from start to finish - you will literally feel your jaw dropping as you drive and you almost cannot believe the scenery will possibly get better… and it does. Chapshoro Point - Along the Karakoram Highway from Gilgit to Hunza Valley one of the most famous foods is chapshoro, a meat filled dough pocket. It’s a great tea snack - and we’d be having a few more of these today. Total price - 900 PKR ($6.74) Hunza Valley - We arrived to Hunza Valley and immediately checked in to Hunza Serena Inn, with an almost unbelievable view from our patio. Baltit Fort - We quickly hiked up to Baltit Fort, a spectacular and iconic fort within Hunza Valley and then walked down for a quick bite to eat. Hunza Food Pavilion - Just a small little cosy restaurant, yet so inviting and so many good aromas coming out of the kitchen. We ordered chapshoro again, and daodo soup, both of which were amazing. Total price - 630 PKR ($4.72) Osho Maraka - Hunza Serena Inn - We then headed back to the hotel where they wanted to prepare a local Hunza Valley food lunch for us. The food was good, a little on the plain side for me, but very fresh and local ingredients. Eagles Nest - Next we drove up one of the main mountains of Hunza Valley for the view. Although we were late for the sunset, the view was still spectacular. Traditional Hunza Valley food - In the evening is when the real authentic Hunza Valley food and cultural learning began. We were invited (thanks to the Gilgit Baltistan tourism ministry for setting it up) to a 400 year old home for a time of music and local Hunza Valley food. The old home was beautiful, and they immediately started playing amazing local music. The food was authentic and local - lots of whole grains, walnuts and almonds, and plenty of apricot oil. One of the dishes, a tortilla like bread filled with walnut paste and apricot oil was one of the secret dishes of longevity - so I was told! Whatever the case, the food, people, and experience, was outstanding. By this time I have to stay I was tired, cold, and ready to go back to the hotel to sleep, but they said, we need to stop at one more place. It was completely dark, and looked abandoned. But we stepped inside a home, and there were at least 20 people huddled in the house, waiting for us. I was blown away and humbled. They made us tea and a few local pancake like snacks. It was beyond special. Thank you to everyone involved, and to the families for their amazing hospitality and kindness. Another absolutely incredible day of food and people in Pakistan. A Homemade Meal . . . From a Vending Machine

In Japan, vending machines generally sell beverages and simple, readymade provisions. But fresh curry over rice? You bet. Along a lonely stretch of highway in Awa-shi, Japan, you’ll find a rare vending machine selling tantalizing homemade meals. Even better? The vending machine owner, Tadashi Yoshimoto, grows the rice in every meal just down the road on his own farm. Why Parmesan Cheese Is So Expensive

A wheel of parmesan cheese can cost over $1,000. A single wheel takes at least one year to age, 131 gallons of milk to make, and it can only be made in a restricted area in northern Italy, in the region of Emilia Romagna. FIRE RAMEN & GYOZA in Kyoto Japan

12:12
I ate some amazing pork and red pepper gyoza in Kyoto. The wrappers were thin, and fried to perfection leaving a nice crispy texture. I definitely recommend getting those two dishes. The next night I went to a fire ramen place which was pretty fun and super HOT!! It's not the spicy hot feeling like the hot oil that leaves a burning sensation on your tongue, but they use real fire to cook the ramen. So the heat on that ramen was flaming hot! Afterward, I went to grab some matcha dessert at one of the best places that Kyoto has to offer. Street Food in Gilgit + PAKISTANI VILLAGE FOOD | Ultra Happiness in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan!

This video includes Day 9 and 10 of our Pakistani food tour trip (you can watch the entire video series here: https://youtu.be/Xdya8eym9nM). I combined the two days because things didn’t work out as planned on Day 9, and so didn’t end up being able to film much. But that’s the way things go sometimes! So firstly, on Day 9, the plan was to drive from Shigar to to Deosai National Park, and drive all the way through the park to the other side, en-route to Gilgit. Unfortunately it started snowing along the way, and by the time we arrived to the entrance of the park, it was snowing too hard, and it was too risky to proceed. So we turned around and took the long way to Gilgit. Gilgit, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan - Ok, so now back to today (Day 10) we started the morning with a street food tour of Gilgit. Gilgit is an amazing small town, sort of the gateway of Gilgit Baltistan, and a commerce hub for the region on the Karakoram highway. The town is extremely friendly, and everywhere we went to eat on this small market and street food tour, we were greeted with such friendliness and hospitality. Kabuli pulao - 140 PKR ($1.04) Grilled meat - 120 PKR ($0.89) Curry - 120 PKR ($0.89) After about an hour eating street food and walking around the market, we continued on to Nizam’s house, which was about a 15 minute drive from the center of Gilgit. Nizam is an employee of Ali, and he graciously invited us to his amazing home in the countryside. The view from the backyard was breathtaking. We first went to the river valley to pick vegetables where we met Nizam’s father in law, who again may be the happiest man on earth - he was amazing pounding the chilies. We picked vegetables, and just stood in amazement at the natural wonder beauty of Pakistan. Lunch was incredibly delicious, all the fresh vegetables we picked, plus both mutton and beef curry, with rice and roti. The curries were some of the best I ate in Pakistan, but the fresh mountain vegetables, sauteed down with dried tomato, were the highlight. An incredible meal, really one of the most memorable I had in my entire trip to Pakistan. Thank you Nizam and family for the amazing meal! If you haven’t seen the other videos in this series, watch them all here: https://youtu.be/Xdya8eym9nM We flew from Islamabad to Skardu, in Gilgit-Baltistan. Even the flight was spectacular as we passed by Nanga Parbat enroute to the gorgeous city of Skardu. Quick snack in Skardu - After landing we proceeded through security and immigration and continued on to Skardu town. We stopped in Skardu town to run a few errands along the way, and we happen to stop just outside a small shop selling chapli kebabs and a few different Pakistani curries. We had to stop for a quick snack. The chapli kebabs were excellent as usual, and the saag with meat curry was spectacular. Total price - 680 PKR ($5.05) Serena Shigar Fort (https://www.serenahotels.com/serenashigarf/en/default.html) - It was about a 30 minute drive from Skardu to Shigar, and it was a spectacular drive through the mountains until we emerged into Shigar, another lush valley. The scenery was other-worldly. We checked into Serena Shigar Fort (thanks to them for sponsoring our stay). Baltistan Food - The real highlight of the day was having a local Baltistan food dinner where an amazing family prepared 14 different traditional dishes. Many of the dishes included whole grains, fresh goat, and plenty of apricot oil for seasoning and flavor. It was an amazing meal, and fellowship, and just a taste of the Baltistan, Pakistan. When I was in LA, I had a special opportunity to eat with Jeffrey and Austin at a special event by Wagyu Mafia, at Spago Restaurant in Beverly Hills. But before we went to the event to eat a 12 course wagyu Japanese beef meal, we first stopped off at chi SPACCA, an Italian restaurant to have their cheesy focaccia. It was cooked right in front of us, and it was so fresh and incredibly good. The golden cooked dough and the cheese in the center made it fantastic. Spago - We continued on to Spago to attend the Wagyu Mafia event. I had an opportunity to go back into the kitchen to see the chefs preparing the meal, and get a few samples directly from the chefs. The mini wagyu beef sliders were incredible, but the ice cream cone raw wagyu tartare was the winner. Here are all the Wagyu Mafia beef courses we had for our meal at Spago: Wagyu jerky Wagyu tartare Wagyu sliders Wagyu nigiri Whipped wagyu tallow Tofu, beef ma-po chili oil Wagyu gyoza Wagyu carpaccio Wagyu Mafia katsu sando Wagyu sukiyaki Grilled wagyu steak Wagyu keema curry Beef fat brioche During the meal, we also got to sample one of the signature dishes of Spago, the smoked salmon pizza, the pizza that started the California pizza movement. It was delicious. Thank you for watching this LA food video! Chef Twins in Bangkok - MIDNIGHT CRISPY PORK LEG + German Food at Michelin Star Restaurant Sühring!

20:54
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe ►T-shirts and caps available now: https://migrationology.com/store/ ►Restaurant Sühring: http://restaurantsuhring.com For a while now I had wanted to eat at Restaurant Sühring (http://restaurantsuhring.com/), a modern German food restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand. Along with serving world class German food in Thailand, one of the unique aspects of Restaurant Sühring is that the chefs are twins! Restaurant Sühring is one of the most well known high end dining restaurants in Bangkok, having received a Michelin Star and at the top of the list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. I just want to make this clear - I initially wanted to eat at Sühring and asked permission to film a video. Graciously, they did not allow me to pay, though I had all intention to do so. This video is not sponsored, but I didn’t pay for the food. Thank you to Khun Pup for organizing. Ok, let’s get into this amazing meal we had, including a surprise German style fried pork leg, which happened to be at midnight (we dined for like 4 hours, and what an incredible meal it was). Here are all the dishes we ate at Sühring: Storhappen Berliner Pfannkuchen Huehnchen Salat - chicken salad Lachs & Gurke - cured salmon Currywurst Entenleber & Buchteln - foie gras mousse Frankfurter grüne soße, geräucherter aal - eel Brotzeit - bread Leipziger Allerlei - herbs, crayfish Seabream Spätzle Hungarian duck German pork knuckle Rote grutze & tonka Pfirsich & quark - peach dessert Candy box Eierlikör – egg liqueur Tasting menu - 4,400 THB ($135.65) Wine pairing - 3,600 THB ($110.98) Again, I was really looking forward to finally having the chance to eat at Restaurant Sühring as a lot of my food friends in Bangkok told me how good it was. Something I really loved is how both the twins are so passionate about cooking and how each dish had a story behind it - many of which had a family story behind it. Both Ying and I really enjoyed out meal. Huge thank you to the Mathias and Thomas Sühring for the meal and hospitality! In my previous street food tour videos of Chengdu, China, we’ve brought you to hundreds of delicious street food locations. We’ve shot hundreds of Chinese street food tour videos. You’ve watched us eat CRAZY Chinese street food like GIANT LOBSTERS and HUGE KING CRABS, massive bowls of dan dan noodles and more, but today, we’re upgrading and going ALL OUT for a $300 per person splurge at Chengdu’s best restaurant; Yuzhilan, owned by the best Sichuan chef in China, mr Lan. Chef Lan has been working his craft and cooking the best Szechuan cuisine in China for over 35 years, and today, he’s bringing us in to his home kitchen to see how he makes some very special dishes. He is sharing with us his philosophy of cooking and his deep love for Sichuan cuisine, sharing his personal story of learning how to cook Sichuan food and how he has traveled the world to study how to cook. After living in Japan for 2 years and studying in London, he has spend his life perfecting the art of Sichuan cuisine, using only the best local ingredients to bring out the natural flavour in everything he prepares. As soon as we walked into his kitchen, Chef Lan showed us how he prepared his abalone. He explained to us the significance of Abalone in Hong Kong and Guangdong cuisine and how he has used 4 different styles of cooking abalone to bring into his own Sichuan style. It was amazing to watch the stock bubbling and the soft abalone simmering away. After this, Chef lan showed us the AMAZING Kung Lao LOBSTER! A dish he is proud of and worked hard to master, the kung pao lobster was amazing to witness. It was spicy and sweet and served cold with a bowl of guaiweimian AKA cold “strange flavour” noodles. As the lobster was being plated, Chef Lan brought us into his main noodle preparation area, where he uses a MASSIVE blade to hand cut the THINNEST noodles in the WORLD! This was so incredible to watch! Just like watching a taiqi master practice his moves, watching Chef Lan cut the noodles was an unforgettable experience! After he cut the noodles, Chef Lan showed us how each noodle could fit through the thread of a needle! And then it was time to eat this AMAZING Sichuan food! Luxury Sichuan food at it’s finest! There were over 20+ items on the menu, all cooked in Sichuan style yet upgraded flavour wise because all the ingredients were so premium! Chef Lan’s personal philosophy in cooking Sichuan food is to use the best ingredients and to allow them to do the talking and use the sauces only to lightly touch and improve the flavour. We could see that is true on his huge Sichuan food menu: Some of the crazy LUXURY Sichuan foods we ate were: Hot Pot Chicken, chinese Matsutake mushrooms with chinese yam and soup, SUPERIOR Abalone, Hot and Sour DEEP Sea cucumber, Chinese bird’s nest soup, Yuxiang Style Eggplant and Yuxiang style eel, Sichuan dry style rabbit with Sichuan pepper and fermented soya bean, KUNG PAO Lobster, Sichuan Caviar, and more!! Make sure to enjoy this entire video until the end because there was SO MUCH INSANE LUXURY Sichuan food you’re going to love! Chinese Street Food LEVEL 9000 -The ULTIMATE Chinese Street Food Tour of Chengdu, China - SICHUAN!

19:38
Chinese Street Food Chengdu http://bit.ly/Chengdu8 Chinese Street Food Level 9000 - The Ultimate Chinese Street Food Tour in Chengdu, China! This is Sichuan Food HEAVEN! In this Chinese Street Food Tour video, we’re bringing you in DEEP to try 4 amazing Chinese street foods in Chengdu. Here, the Sichuan food is world famous for being SPICY, Fragrant, and a little numbing as well from the Sichuan peppercorn. Today, we’re going for a street food adventure to these 4 street food stalls to taste some delicious and spicy street foods and also a famous Sichuan dessert. We’re starting first thing in the morning for Chinese breakfast and going to a famous Sichuan Noodle Joint in Chengdu. This noodle restaurant is famous for its twice cooked pork noodles AKA huiguoroumian 回锅肉面. Huiguorou twice cooked pork is a famous Sichuan food that is best in Chengdu. And to find it on top of noodles is very RARE. To me it’s like an upgraded dan dan noodle. The flavour is even stronger and more aromatic. And we were so lucky to get into the kitchen to watch the chef Mr.Yu cook his family recipe and serve it to us! After this, we found the true Chinese Street Food LEVEL 9000 dish, the sweet sticky rice balls AKA Tangyou Guozi 糖油果子. Tangyou guozi are a very traditional Chinese street food in Chengdu that you need to try. The sticky rice balls are fried in a huge wok full of oil for about 10 minutes and then covered in a dark sweet molasses. They are crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and are incredibly sweet! After this, we’re continuing our journey for another famous Chinese street food - WONTONS. And today, we got invited into the prep area of a famous wonton restaurant in a little neighbourhood of Chengdu. This restaurant serves a variety of special wontons famous in Sichuan cuisine. Watching the master chefs prepare these elegant and expensive wontons was a highlight of our Chinese street food adventure. They are most well known for their ganhaijiao chaoshou AKA spicy wontons covered in peanut and chili. You can order them dry or with stock. I prefer them dry. They also had two other amazing wonton dishes, one made with pork and another made with shrimp, pork, and crab egg, kind of like a Seafood wonton! Each of these were made with a chicken stock and served with either matsutake mushrooms or local fungus. And to finish off our Chinese street food LEVEL 9000 Adventure - we’re going to the most famous Szechuan food of all, the Szechuan hot pot! Here in Chengdu, you can get extremely spicy and flavourful Sichuan hot pot almost anywhere. But we set out to find the most local style one and found a little place in a small neighbourhood in Chengdu. It was definitely one of the BEST hot pot restaurants in Chengdu! INSANE Chinese Seafood - $1500 Seafood FEAST in Guangzhou, China - 10 KG BIGGEST Lobster + KING Crab

21:54
INSANE Chinese Seafood FEAST in Guangzhou! We found the most CRAZY Chinese Seafood in Guangzhou. This Chinese seafood restaurant is like a huge seafood Aquarium! There is so much EXOTIC Chinese seafood here! This is like upgraded Chinese street food! GIANT Seafood HEAVEN! If you're wanting to eat seafood in Guangzhou, you can come to Guangzhou HongXing restaurant. It has the most INSANE selection of Chinese seafood from around the world, all picked up daily from the local fish market! They have every type of seafood you can order it in a huge variety of different cooking styles. When you walk into hongxing seafood restaurant, you immediately feel like you're walking into a seafood heaven. This is different from our regular Chinese street food videos, this is a Chinese seafood feast video! And today we are featuring all cantonese style cooking, one of the 8 main specialties of Chinese cuisine! This is less spicy than Sichuan food, this is much more elegant and refined and clear style, very delicious! When you walk in, you'll see hundreds of different fish tanks full of so many different types of seafood to choose from. You'll see at least 2 aisles full of lobster from around the world. Australian lobster, Boston lobster, and more. And you'll also find aisles full of different crabs from around the world. The biggest ones are the Alaskan king prawns. You can order these steamed or boiled and covered in a garlic sauce. The crab legs are full of flesh! Super tasty! This is Chinese style seafood mukbang! This is way better than a regular seafood boil! You'll also find rows of different clams, mussels, abalone, oysters, and more exotic things too. There is water beetles, snakes, and also classic Cantonese stir fry dishes too. You can eat dim sum, fried noodles, and cantonese desserts too! This is one of the most expensive restaurants in Guangzhou for seafood. In my opinion, if you can afford to spend a little for one crab, it is totally worth it to taste the cantonese style of cooking. The Amazon’s Boiling River Kills Anything That Enters

02:34
When Andrés Ruzo was a boy, his grandfather would tell him tales of a mythical city of gold deep in the heart of the Peruvian jungle. Though never believing the stories to be true, the legend of the lost city stuck with him into adulthood. Years later, as a geothermal scientist, Ruzo decided to investigate. To his surprise, he discovered an incredulous river deep in the Amazon, with water hot enough to kill a human. Historically a place of pilgrimage for shamans and sorcerers, the river now faces increasing threats from poachers, loggers and squatters. Now, Ruzo is working hard to protect it. Ultra-Tender TANDOORI LAMB!! | Food Tour + Attractions in Bukhara - Silk Road Uzbekistan!

21:06
SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos every week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe T-shirts and caps: https://goo.gl/6WdK1l Watch the entire Uzbekistan playlist: https://youtu.be/A3xHJzNNM2A Thank you to B. Hamzaev - Head of Marketing and Promotion of Uzbekistan Tourism. Check out Bekruz: https://goo.gl/M14aZW Uzbekistan Day 5: Tandoori Lamb and Full Tour of Ancient Bukhara, Uzbekistan! From Samarkand, we drove to Bukhara, another ancient and well preserved city in Uzbekistan. What’s great about Bukhara is that it’s an entire ancient city that was important on the Silk Road that’s well preserved and still functioning. Kolkhoznyy Rynok Bazaar - Ravshan (https://goo.gl/QaaBDA) who I’ve been traveling with in Uzbekistan is originally from Bukhara, so he was a great person to be with. We started in the morning, along with Bekruz for breakfast at the bazaar. We bought honey and kaymak then some very kind ladies at the bread market invited us to sit at their table. A perfect Uzbek breakfast to get the day started. Great Minaret of the Kalon - Dating back to the 12th century, without a doubt, the Great Minaret of Kalon is a landmark in Bukhara. Even Genghis Khan, while in the process of destroying much of Bukhara, spared the minaret because of its vast beauty. It truly is spectacular. Chor Bakr Restaurant - But we were very interested in a local Bukhara food speciality, tandoori lamb. So we drove out to Chor Bakr Restaurant, who prepare about 100 kg. of tandoori lamb for lunch. And luckily we arrived right as they were pulling it out of the oven! Price per plate - 75,000 UZS ($9.08) Magistral Plov Center - As I’ve learned and probably you have too, you can’t visit a city in Uzbekistan without having plov, the national dish and ultimate dish of Uzbekistan. For this version we had Bukhara plov, quite a bit more meaty than the Samarkand version, and loaded with sheep butt. Bolo Hauz Mosque - Another beautiful sight in Bukhara is Bolo Hauz Mosque with its impressive wooden entrance area. And across the street from the mosque you’ll find Bolo Xauz Teahouse, a nice little tea house where we had a tea and snack and just relaxed for a minute. Lastly for our sightseeing of the day in Bukhara, we climbed to the top of The Ark Fortress, a huge fortified palace in Bukhara near the old city. Labi Hovuz Restaurant - For dinner we ate at one of Bukhara’s most legendary restaurants, located in the old public square. The ambiance was great, and the hearty lamb and potato soup cooked in clay pots was delicious. It was another wonderful day and learning experience in Uzbekistan. If you haven’t already, you can watch the entire Uzbekistan food travel series here: https://youtu.be/A3xHJzNNM2A Big thank you to Bekruz and the Ministry of Tourism Uzbekistan for arranging my trip to Uzbekistan. Ultimate CHAPLI KEBABS! | Extreme Pakistani Street Food in Mardan, Pakistan!

21:12
SUBSCRIBE http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe for 2 new videos every week T-shirts and caps: https://goo.gl/6WdK1l Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market): https://goo.gl/VY6NjH I can say with certainty, chapli kebabs are probably the best form or shape of any kebab or meat patty formation that I’ve ever had in my entire life. This was my first time to try this Pakistani food speciality, and I was blown away with every bite. Chapli kebabs are extraordinary! Islamabad - Capital Pakistan - So we started off the day in Islamabad, but the plan for the day was to drive to Mardan, eat along the way, and eat our way through Mardan, but mostly focusing the day on chapli kebabs. Mian Jee Restaurant - One the way to Mardan we stopped at Mian Jee, a very famous restaurant know for all sorts of dishes, but especially their world famous dal. It’s so thick and creamy it’s almost the consistency of peanut butter. And yes, it’s rich and delicious. Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan - We arrived in Mardan in the early afternoon and headed straight to eat chapli kebabs for the first time. Chapli Kebab - Mardan - The first place we are chapli kebab was a local favorite spot in Mardan city. I’m not exactly sure of the name, but it’s a very popular spot and known by locals. They had the massive podium fryer, filled with melted fat, and made medium sized burger patties, with big chunks of bone marrow to make this even better. Their chapli kebabs (kababs) were seasoned perfectly with a balance of tomato and cumin. It was an eye opener for me. Falooda - Next we stopped in Mardan to eat falooda, and from what I understand, Mardan falooda is pretty famous. River View Restaurant - Next on this day of Mardan and Peshawar, we drove to River View Restaurant, mainly to go on a boat ride in the Kabul River. The river ride was fun, and it was amazing to be cruising down the Kabul river. The restaurant also had delicious food. Rambail Chapli Kebab, Taru Jabba - But for our real dinner we needed to get another dose of chapli kebabs. On the way, almost to Peshawar city, we stopped at Rambail Chapli Kebab, Taru Jabba, possibly the most famous of all chapli kebab in the world. And when you see their bonfire and podium of a cooking station, you’ll know why it’s the best. They make larger sized patties, filled with spices, and bone marrow, and again fried in their own fat. The chapli kebabs were so unbelievably delicious, I could hardly control myself. It was an amazing day of Pakistani street food in Pakistan, and an intro to chapli kebabs from the source. Chinese cooking is some of the best in the world, and in Chengdu, China, the cuisine is world famously known as Sichuan cuisine or Szechuan cuisine. It is spicy and numbing and covered in delicious Chili oil. I moved here to Chengdu specifically to be able to eat spicy and delicious Chinese street foods. ►For addresses a full Chengdu Food Tour, visit my blog post on Chengdu street food, it has a huge list of the best street foods to try in Chengdu, China. The Chengdu food guide features all of the locations within this Chinese street food video: ►https://www.thefoodranger.com/the-ultimate-chengdu-food-tour/ In this Chinese street food tour video, we're starting out with one of China's most famous foods; DUMPLINGS. In Chengdu, they are different from the rest of China. Here, they are boiled and covered in a thick and spicy chili oil that leaves you so SATISFIED! These are some of the most satisfying dumplings ever! I must admit though, the filling could have been more plump. If you are traveling to Chengdu to eat Szechuan cuisine, I would personally recommend trying the red chili oil wontons first. And after those amazing dumplings in Chengdu, we're eating another famous dish in Sichuan cuisine, RABBIT. Eating rabbit is very famous in Sichuan, and here in Chengdu, locals love it in a numbing and spicy Szechuan Sauce. But we wanted to try a more UNIQUE style of eating rabbit in Sichuan, on top of noodles. So we visited a local rabbit noodle joint and ate a couple unique bowls of Chinese Sichuan noodles. The first was the rabbit noodles, where the rabbit is served to you in thin slices covered in chilies, ginger, and onions. You then pour it over top of your thick and spicy chili oil broth noodle bowl. It was absolutely delicious. The next bowl of spicy noodles that we ordered was the beef noodle soup - red braised beef noodle soup. Super delicious and spicy! After eating those 2 bowls of delicious Sichuan noodles, we are bringing you to a nice original fly restaurant of Chengdu, Mingting fandian. The fly restaurants of Chengdu are old locations that are sometimes less than cleanly but have incredible food! Nowadays most fly restaurants in Chengdu are actually really clean and you don't have to worry about getting sick from eating the street food. At mingting restaurant, we ordered a river carp, spicy pork blood, spare ribs, fried sticky rice strips, Sichuan sausages, twice cooked pork, and pig brain tofu. It was all incredibly delicious! And for our final meal in this Chinese street food tour of Chengdu, China, we're going for one of the most famous foods to try in Sichuan, HOT POT! We found a local 9 section hot pot that serves spicy and delicious hot pot and is always busy! Watch a Train Run Through Thailand’s Most Dangerous Market

02:03
In Samut Songkhram, about an hour outside Bangkok, is Maeklong Railway Market, one of the largest produce and seafood markets in Thailand. But beyond the selection of fresh fruit and fish, the market has become infamous for one thing—the train that runs directly through it. In 1905, the Maeklong Railway built a commuter train line through the center of the popular market. But rather than move, the vendors adapted to the new conditions, working around the train that passes through eight times a day, seven days a week. How Ocean Spray Harvests 220 Billion Cranberries A Year

03:10
Ocean Spray Cranberry farms are a part of a large cooperative established in 1933 that includes the US, Canada, and Chile. Many of the farms are fourth generation and greater family farms. Each year, Ocean Spray facilities produce about 88 million cans of cranberry sauce and 223 million bottles of juice -------------------------------------------------- Following is a transcript of the video: Narrator: Come Thanksgiving, cranberries hit tables across the US. Usually in sauce form. But these pink super fruits have a long journey before they ever make it to your holiday plate. Odds are your cranberries started here in New England, on an Ocean Spray farm. Allison Carr: Hi, I'm Alison Carr and I am a 6th generation cranberry farmer here in Massachusetts, and you are on my family farm. Narrator: Headquartered in Lakeville, Massachusetts, Ocean Spray harvests 220 billion cranberries a year. Cranberries are primarily harvested in the water. Kellyanne Dignan: Despite what people think, they don't grow in water all year. Narrator: Cranberries begin as vines in wetland fields called a bog. In June, small pink flowers bloom. It's said the flowers look like a crane, giving the berry its name. Around late June the flowers fall off, and the actual cranberry starts to grow. Harvesting happens between September and October, when the bogs are filled with a couple inches of water. A berry-picking machine drives into the bog, and churns up the vines to knock the berries off. Because cranberries have four air pockets inside, they float to the surface of the water. Allison Carr: We try to use Mother Nature as much as we can, and the wind. And in a lot of cases, the cranberries will be pushed to one area of the bog and that's the area that we use to take the cranberries off. Narrator: A couple more inches of water are added to the bog And this is where you've probably seen images of farmers thigh-deep in cranberry water. Dressed in waders, farmers maneuver what's called a boom to corral the berries into one corner of the bog. They then rake all the berries into vacuums that suck them up into the backs of trucks. The trucks are sent off to the Ocean Spray processing plants where they're unloaded. Those berries can become one of 1,000 different products. Ranging from juices, to dried cranberries, to of course, cranberry sauce. Each year, Ocean Spray facilities produce about 88 million cans of cranberry sauce, and 223 million bottles of juice! Their products are sold in stores across a hundred different countries. But how do small, family-owned farms in Massachusetts help produce almost 65% of all cranberries sold? That's because they're a part of the Ocean Spray agricultural cooperative. Started in 1933, today 700 family farms across the US, Canada and Chile, collectively own the Ocean Spray brand. Dignan: The average farm in the cooperative, is just 18 acres. These are small family farms, typically multi-generations. In fact more than a quarter of our farms are in their fourth generation or greater. Narrator: Under the cooperative, the family farms see 100% of the profits from Ocean Spray product sales. Dignan: Cooperatives support farmers because ultimately farmers are able to capture a lot more value for their crops. So the value we add through manufacturing and marketing and that blue Ocean Spray brand, all of that's going back to the farm rather than going to a middle-man or a CPG company. Narrator: So you can go back to your cranberry-sauce-turkey-dunking, knowing you've supported a co-op six generations in the making. ------------------------------------------------------ Business Insider tells you all you need to know about business, finance, tech, retail, and more. Chinese Street Food INSANE BBQ Tour in Sichuan, China - SZECHUAN SAUCE BBQ Lamb + Sichuan BBQ Rabbit

21:34
INSANE Chinese Street Food BBQ Tour in Sichuan, China! We found the ORIGINAL SZECHUAN SAUCE, the true chili oil! In this Chinese street food BBQ tour, we're visiting 3 delicious Chinese BBQ restaurants in Chengdu, China, trying out a WHOLE Roast Lamb, some amazing Chinese Sichuan BBQ Rabbit, and some amazing BBQ Sichuan Lamb Kebabs! ►Make sure to Subscribe to The Food Ranger here: http://bit.ly/2cCy2ub ►And subscribe to my buddy Austin Guidry here: http://bit.ly/2E8Hl0E In this Chinese Street Food BBQ Tour, we're exploring the DEEP back restaurants of Chengdu, China and taking you to experience the AMAZING Szechuan Barbecue restaurants and the sauce and spice that is slathered onto everything you eat here. If you love spicy Barbeque, you're going to love this video, cause first up, we're going to enjoy a whole bbq lamb, Sichuan style. This bbq lamb is approximately 60-90 days old and is quite enough for 2 - 4 people to eat entirely. It was covered in a thick chili sauce aka SZECHUAN Sauce and tons of chili, salt, cumin, and sichuan peppercorn. The flavour was out of this world! One of the best BBQ lamb you can eat anywhere around the world! The bbq ribs were a little small I must admit, but the rest of the meat was delicious. Watching the rotating meat was so much fun. Much different from your regular grilling meat restaurant. We watched the whole process of cooking the baby lamb. First, it was put to bbq over the coals. After about 30 minutes, they rubbed a spicy chili oil all over it to change the colour darker red. After that, they took it off briefly and covered it in a Sichuan sesame oil. This was the first coat. After roasting on the BBQ coals for another hour or so, it was taken off and covered in a THICK Sichuan chili oil. This is where a lot of the fragrance and spice comes from. The true SZECHUAN SAUCE! It was covered in a spicy cumin chili combo and then served! We finished the whole lamb, and then the next day, I continued alone on the Chinese street food BBQ tour. I found a famous joint in Chengdu serving a chengdu traditional food, Sichuan spicy rabbit. Here, 60 day old rabbits are slathered in a spicy chili oil and a similar spice mix, except they are pulled apart with pliers and also covered in a lot of ground peanuts and MSG. Whether you can accept MSG is up to you, but here on the streets, it's used almost everywhere, and I am fine with that. After that amazing Sichuan BBQ rabbit, I tried another specialty of Chengdu from the same Chinese street food restaurant, Sichuan rabbit head. Actually it was a very similar flavour, just slightly less cumin scented and spicy. Not bad. To finish up the BBQ tour, I went to a local Muslim Chinese halal food restaurant serving Halal Chinese BBQ Kebabs. Here, the kebabs were covered in a ton of cumin and chili and Sichuan peppercorn and also served with the kaobing, bbq flatbread also covered in a similar spice mix. It was an amazing combo!
